This month’s shared practice discussion will include a control room best practices presentation hosted by Brandon Scroggs, a 10-year subject matter expert at Constant Technologies, Inc. The session provides updates on recent industry news, guidance for modernizing a control room, and a framework for managing a cross-facility portfolio.
Critical network control rooms are among the most complex and consequential spaces managed by utility facility organizations. They may support transmission, distribution, generation, IT, telecommunications, outage response, or physical-security functions. Their performance depends on a combination of specialized operating technology, communications, security, environmental conditions, room configuration, operator work practices, and human factors. Unlike the surrounding control-center facility, the control room may require significant refreshes as technology, staffing, operating practices, cybersecurity requirements, and system complexity change.
Join us to share your perspectives and hear how other utilities are addressing these challenges. All utility staff and business partners are welcome to participate.
Please take the short shared practice survey on this topic – it will only take a few minutes and your input is greatly appreciated. Upon completion you will go to the meeting registration form (and all participants get the survey results whether they can attend the meeting or not).
