Cultural Facility Group Updates

This is a web page version of our monthly email with links for more information. (Typically updated the beginning of each month). Check the overall schedule for a current list of this year’s meetings and benchmarking program milestones.

This Month’s Shared Practice Meeting

This month we are going to hear about national research project exploring the practice of broadened Temperature and Relative Humidity (T/RH) parameters in museums beyond the common practice of 70°F/50% RH. Mischa Egolf, Senior Technical Associate, New Building Institute, will share the approach and preliminary findings based on site visits, focusing on how this work relates to energy management.

Please take the short pre-meeting survey on your temperature and humidity control settings. It will only take a couple minutes and provides a good starting point for our discussion. (After you take that you will go to the meeting registration page)

Shared Practice Meeting (One-hour Zoom call, fourth Tuesday of the month)
Topic: Min/Max: Exploring the Relationship Between Energy and T/RH Parameters
     June 24, 2025:12:00 pm EDT / 9:00 am PDT / 5:00 pm CET

Benchmarking Program Updates

Data Entry for the Cultural Facility Benchmarking Program is now open. Your organization can enroll online or contact us with questions if interested.

If you are interested in attending the Annual Benchmarking Workshop at the IAMFA Annual Conference, we cannot take “on-site” meeting registrations this year to comply with the policies of our meeting host (National Gallery of Art). So, if you would like to attend this pre-conference meeting and the back-of-house tour of the NGA, please contact us to sign-up as a benchmarking program participant.

Steering Committee Meetings are discontinued for 2025

While we have had these general discussions about the benchmarking program, we now offer 1:1 support calls and will use this time slot for those and general training. Suggestions for benchmarking data/metrics, reporting requests, and ideas for the annual workshop are still welcome! (submit them here)

Additional Support

We provide additional support services on data systems, data integration/assembly, using metrics, special studies and strategic facility planning.  Contact us if you would like a no-sales chat about your situation.
