This Month’s Shared Practice Survey
Please take our short (3-5 question) monthly survey on Special Event Preparation at Cultural Facilities – it really only takes a couple minutes and the results are helpful for cultural facility managers!
This Month’s Shared Practice Meeting
Last year we had a shared practice meeting on special event support, which resonated with many organizations. (See results of associated shared practice survey here: https://facilityissues.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/CI-Special-Event-Support.pdf) Some common pain points such as schedule coordination and staff burnout were identified during the meeting.
At the annual conference I noted the trend in society valuing “experience” in our increasingly virtual world and forecast that special events are likely to remain a significant activity at cultural facilities since they offer high-quality environments.
So this month, we will continue the discussion about supporting special events, and if there is interest then we will use a workshop format to build a “checklist” for these events (like we did for projects a few years ago – https://facilityissues.com/cultural-facility-project-checklist/).
